USAVE says Kia Ora to Maori language week
Friday, July 24th, 2009Read about 'USAVE says Kia Ora to Maori language week' on USAVE, the place for all things car rental.
Next week is Maori Language week in New Zealand, from 27 July to 2 August 2009, a great opportunity for Kiwi’s to embrace the uniqueness of New Zealand’s Maori culture and language. Tourism New Zealand Chief Executive George Hickton says:
“It really is important that as part of the tourism industry, we constantly increase our understanding of one of the most important attractions to New Zealand.”
At USAVE Car & Truck Rentals, we know from our own years of experience interacting with tourists from all over the world that the Maori culture is a major draw card for people visiting New Zealand, with the cultural events and shows they participate in leaving quite an impact. It has been impressive to see how many Kiwis are using Te Reo Maori in every day situations such as ‘whanau’ for ‘family’ and ‘kai’ for food.
Here at USAVE, we will do our best to highlight Maori Language week with more Te Reo Maori used in our greetings to customers – and we encourage others to do the same.
Ka Kite, or see you later from us.
