1. Farmers Santa Parade – 25 November 2018
One for the whole family, the Farmers Santa Parade is a great way to kick off the festive season. See an amazing line up of floats, inflatables and entertainment as well as some delicious food stalls. Don’t miss the giant Madagascar Penguins, My Little Pony and Thomas the Tank Engine inflatables – always popular with the kids.

What Time: Pre-parade festivities start at 12pm, the actual Farmers Santa Parade starts at 1pm.
Postponement Date: 2 December 2018
Parade Route: The Parade follows a route along Mayoral Drive from Cook Street, down Queen Street, turning right onto Customs Street East finishing at the junction of Customs Street East and Fort Street. See here for the current Parade route map.
2. Santa’s Party – 25 November 2018
After the Farmers Santa Parade head on over to Aotea Square for more Santa celebrations with the Auckland Santa After Party. Entry is free and party goers can expect a full line up of entertainment, amusement rides and food as well as the chance to spot Santa again.
Live performances on the day have included entertainment from MC Flynny from The Hits, 3-Ring Riot White Christmas Show, Nick Junior Shimmer and Shine, Peppa Pig – Jump in Muddy Puddles and the West City Concert Band plus much more.
When: Sunday 25 November 2018
What Time: 2.30pm to 5.30pm
Where: Aotea Square (301-317 Queen Street)
Parking: Free parking is available on Parade Day in the Downtown and Victoria Street car parking buildings but cars must be parked up before 11am and leave between 2pm-6pm (exiting before 2pm or after 6pm will incur a fee).
3. Boutique Christmas Market – 25 November 2018
If the Santa Parade is not your thing heading south out of the city and pick up a unique and special gift at the Boutique Christmas Market in Pukekohe. Market goers will find an array of great stalls featuring handcrafted boutique style items and products as well as pony rides and face painting.
Stop for a snack or lunch on the go at one of the many food and beverage stalls, entry is free and there is even a special appearance from Santa on the day.

4. Devonport Christmas Festival Dance In the Park – Dec 2018
Over on Auckland’s North Shore, Christmas fun seekers will find the Devonport Christmas Festival Dance In the Park. A free event, the Festival offers fun and entertainment for all ages. Check out the craft, food and market stalls along with Santa’s Grotto and live performers.
In the past festival goers have enjoyed musical entertainment from The Turks band, Natalie Te Paa, Angel and Theo Brown and Janayah Wadsworth while enjoying the dance vibes of the Devonport School of Dance, North Shore Dance Centre, Neverland, Just Workout – Zumba, Vibe and many more.

5. Coca‑Cola Christmas In The Park – 8 December 2018
Embrace the spirit of Christmas with the epic Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park in Auckland. Enjoy a magical night filled with entertainment and fun that’s free for all. The impressive line-up in the past has included performances by Koi Boys, Hollie Smith and Caleb Jago-Ward along with Lavina Williams, Josh Leys, Maaka Fiso and Sophie Morris and many more.
Enjoy tradition Christmas favourites like ‘O Come All Ye Faithful’ and ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’ as well as more modern renditions of ‘Despacito’ and ‘Bang Bang’ and don’t miss the fireworks grand finale at the end of the night.

Postponement Date: Sunday 9th December 2018
Parking: There will be some road closures in and around the Domain from 6am on the day. Grafton Bridge will be closed to all vehicle traffic except emergency vehicles by 4pm. Parking on the surrounding streets and at the Domain will be restricted so it is best to plan ahead and get in early. There are a selection of public parking areas located near the Auckland Domain, check here for the best parking option for you.
6. Christmas Lights At MOTAT – 14 December 2018
Make visiting Santa a magical experience and celebrate the spirit of giving with Christmas Lights at MOTAT. At a small entry cost of $2 per person (under 5’s are free), MOTAT invites visitors to see the Museum grounds transformed into a sparkling visual delight transformed with hundreds of fairy lights, live entertainment, Christmas goodies and of course Santa’s Grotto.
Proceeds from the Christmas Lights go towards providing Christmas gifts for charity. Please note MOTAT Mates cards do not apply for entry into this ticketed event.
When: From Friday 14 to 24 December 2018

Parking: There is limited parking available on site and across the road from MOTAT, along with roadside parking on Stadium Road and Great North Road.
7. The Santa Claus Show ’18 – 1st To 22 December 2018
Enjoy a festive evening of children friendly entertainment with ‘The Santa Claus Show ’18’ event in Auckland this Christmas. Tim Bray Productions proudly present this fun filled extravaganza – the perfect way to kick off the 2018 Christmas season.
Dress up as your favourite Christmas Character and enjoy this magical story about two friends who decide to write a letter to Santa Claus. Tickets cost $22 for Adults, $20.50 for seniors and $22 for Children 17 years and under. (‘A Reserve’ tickets are $25 each, family passes are available).

8. Smith And Caughey’s Christmas Windows – Until 1 Jan 2019
No Christmas in Auckland would be complete without checking out the Smith and Caughey’s annual window display on Queen Street. Lovingly created, the magical displays include handmade puppets, fairy lights, decorations and other Christmas delights all based around a storybook theme.
This year’s theme is yet to be annoced but based on last years magical experience including the ‘Pirate’s Night Before Christmas’ children’s book complete with characters Black Sark, Sir Peggedy and a team of sparkling seahorses – you wont be dissapointed. While you are there take the opportunity to visit Santa in style and grab a photo in store at the Smith and Caughey’s Santa’s Enchanted Forest Experience right up until the 24 December.

Parking: Set in the heart of the city, parking can be tricky however the nearby Atrium Car Parking building offers safe, convenient parking within easy walking distance. Parking for the day costs around $18 if your enter before 10am.
